Cancellation Policy:

By making this reservation you have agreed to our cancellation policy. We are a small family run inn and are greatly impacted by last minute cancellations. Regardless of the circumstance we are not able to provide any refunds beginning at 3 pm 2 days before arrival including early departures. There are several 3rd party companies such as covertrip.com who provide trip insurance if that is desired. 

Large Booking Policies:

 Large party bookings (4 or more rooms) and/or stays longer than 3 days: a 10% non-refundable deposit is required the day of booking.  Thirty days prior to arrival an additional 40% non-refundable deposit will be charged to the card on file. If canceled 2 weeks prior to arrival the full amount will be charged to card on file.

 

There will be no refunds on multi-night bookings after check-in.  No exceptions.

Pet Policy:

The Carter Inn is a strictly pet-free property. Pets of any kind are not permitted anywhere on the premises including inside vehicles.  This policy is non-negotiable.  Guests who arrive with a pet or bring a pet on the property will be asked to leave immediately without a refund. A $250.00 fee will be charged if policy is disregarded. Legitimate ADA dogs are allowed. We appreciate your understanding as many of our guests specifically choose The Carter Inn for its pet-free environment. 

Smoking Policy:

We are a smoke-free property including vaping. We have a smoking area outside in designated areas. Please no cigarette butts on the ground, use designated bins. A $250.00 fee will be charged if policy is disregarded.

Check-In policies:

Our check-in time is 3pm-8pm in the winter and 3pm-9pm in the summer. We do not allow early check-ins. We kindly ask that you arrive within this window, but if you need a later check-in, just let us know in advance, and we will make arrangements for check-in. If you are paying with cash or have pre-paid for the room a valid credit card will be required for check-in.

Room Policies:

We want you to have a great time during your time with us, but if things get too crazy, we go by the old-school rule, "you break it you buy it." Your credit card on file will be charged at fair market value.  When booking keep our maximum occupancy in mind rooms with 1 bed 2 people, rooms with 2 beds 4 people. Additional guests are welcomed at a supplementary fee of $25.00 per person per night. Quiet hours are between 10pm and 7am throughout the property.  We do not have daily room cleaning during your stay unless it is requested. 

Weather-Related Power Outages Policy:

Due to the remoted location and natural beauty of our area, weather conditions can occasionally result in unexpected power outages such as electricity, cable, heat and water.  While we make every effort to ensure a comfortable stay and promptly address such disruptions, The Carter Inn does not offer refunds or discounts for power outages caused by weather or events beyond our control.  Your understanding and cooperation help us continue to offer a warm and welcoming experience even when nature has other plans. 

Parking Policy:

Parking at The Carter Inn is on a first come first serve basis. Lodgers with trailers can ask at the front desk where to park them. The Carter Inn takes no responsibility for any damage or missing items from vehicles.
